iPhone 17 Air Thickness: Comparison with Other Apple Devices

iPhone 17 Air Thickness: Comparison with Other Apple Devices

The thickness of the iPhone 17 Air compared to other Apple devices

Apple is preparing to release an ultra-thin smartphone, the iPhone 17 Air, which will replace the Plus version in the line. Information about the thickness of the new device is hotly debated among insiders, but most of them point to an indicator of 6 millimeters. However, according to the latest data from the authoritative analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the thickness at the thinnest point will be only 5.5 millimeters.

This smartphone promises to become the thinnest device in Apple's history. Currently, the title of the thinnest is held by the iPhone 6, whose thickness is 6.9 millimeters, and which was released in 2014. For comparison: the thickness of the iPhone 16 is 7.8 millimeters, and the iPhone 16 Pro is 8.25 millimeters.

The MacRumors magazine clearly compared the thickness of the Air model with other devices from the company. The editorial team took Kuo's data as a basis, i.e. a thickness of 5.5 millimeters. For comparison, the 13-inch iPad Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are significantly thicker than the iPhone 17 Air.

Previously, it was said that the iPhone 17 Air would be more expensive than the "Pros", but now it seems that it will become a mid-range smartphone with a 6.6-inch display and an A19 processor, which will be inferior in performance to the A19 Pro chip in the iPhone 17 Pro.

Recently, the famous leaker Digital Chat Station reported that the ultra-thin design could negatively affect the autonomy of the new device.
